Next stop on my personal getaways from our family holidays in Berlin and on the German Baltic coast: the Technik-Museum Pütnitz. Located on a former Soviet airbase, the museum is host of a treasure of ex-NVA (East German army) vehicles (mostly of soviet origins) and some civilian one from the DDR time. Even if I could not combine this visit with the annual active demonstration organized by the museum, this day was for me the realization of an already old project and I was not disappointed. It was really an opportunity to see a series of my favorite vehicles up close. Highly recommended for any lover of Soviet machines.

Two weeks ago we were on family holidays in Berlin and on the German Baltic coast. I had planned to book myself a few getaways, and that's how I was finally able to visit the Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr – Flugplatz Berlin-Gatow (Bundeswehr Museum of Military History – Berlin-Gatow Airfield formally known as Luftwaffenmuseum der Bundeswehr). Situated in a former Luftwaffe and Royal Air Force airfield, RAF Gatow, the museum houses some 155 aircraft, mainly of the post-war German Air Forces, from East and West and several Surface-Air Missiles and radar equipment.

The museum was really full of interesting stuff but but it is particularly sad to note that a large part of the pieces have been exhibited outdoors for a long time already. If this situation were to persist, it is obvious that part of the collections will be lost forever.

BTR-60 R-145BM (USSR)

The BTR-60 R-145BM is a turretless conversion of the BTR-60PB in a command and communication vehicle. He is equipped with a collapsible AZI frame antenna, a 10m high telescopic mast, an AB-1-P/30 generator and five different radio sets.

The model is a conversion on the base of the S-Model BTR-60PB. (made 2021)
