FV433 Abbot (UK)

A self-propelled gun (SPG) based on the FV430 series vehicle family, 166 Abbot were produced for the British Army between 1964 and 1967. Armed with a 105mm howitzer with a maximal range of 17,000m, the Abbot stayed in service until the arrival of the 155mm AS90 from 1992 onwards.

The model is a 3D print from the Bobmack3d BAOR Kickstarter. Available in firing and running versions it is a very good rendering of this SPG. I have added the ranging stakes at the front, stowage and camouflage netting on the turret. (made 2022)

FV432 Command post vehicle (UK)

The most numerous of the FV430 series vehicles, produced at more than 3,000 exemplars for the British Army between 1962 and 1971, the FV432 armoured personnel carrier (APC) was itself declined in a whole series of specialized versions among which the Command post, some of them still active in the 2000s. Basically armed with a 7.62mm machine gun fitted on a mount at the commander's cupola and a double bank of three smoke grenade discharger, the FV432 was very similar in its concept and its use to the US M-113.

The model is a 3D print from the Bobmack3d BAOR Kickstarter. It is a very good rendering of this vehicle with nice detailing like the auxiliary power unit. (made 2022)

Chieftain with dozer blade (UK)

I had already approached the Chieftain tank in the past year (here), through my small collection of diecast models. Unfortunately for them, being smallish 1/76 scale, these, already "threatened" by the superb kit from Takom (which I still haven't found the time to paint 😔) will probably have to "retire" with my first 3D prints of the fantastic BAOR Kickstarter from BobMack3d. Here, a Chieftain equipped with a dozer blade normally found in the strength of one per British armoured squadron. 

A very nicely sculpted model, here just with the addition of a crew from RHModel and some sculpted netting around the turret. (made 2022)

Land Rover serie III 109 inch (UK)

An evolution of the iconic Land Rover British off-road vehicles produced since 1948, the series III is the most common of the different models with 440,000 vehicles build between1971 and 1985. By the late 1970s, the British Army had acquired around 9,000 series III models, mainly of the 109 inch (2.77 m) chassis.

The model are from the fantastic BAOR kickstarter project by Bobmack3d. The first is straight from the printer except for a small repair to the front fender while the second one are inspired by the photo above and received a small change of orientation of the front wheels.
