The Chieftain was the United Kingdom main battle tank from the mid-1960s until the late 1980s. A well protected and, with its 120 mm rifled gun, well armed tank, the Chieftain was unfortunately plagued by a poor multi-fuel engine which gave it a high breakdown rate and resulted in a sometimes unmerited bad reputation. Around 1000 Chieftain were built for the British Army.
The models are the diecasts, the only ones existing on this scale before the arrival of the superb Takom kit (one built but still awaiting painting). They represent the versions before the installation of the Stillbrew additional armour and the TOGS Thermal imaging and firing system. Like all diecast models they are not extremely detailed but, with a little work, I find they look great on the gaming table 😎 (made 2013-14)
Superb work as usual Christian
