Z T-90A little photo comparison

A little photo comparison between the T-90A from ModelCollect and the one from Camel Model.

The details are definitely more precise and finely rendered on the Camel Model kit which is certainly the most accurate currently at this scale. The ModelCollect kit requires a lot more work but also offers more easily the possibility of integrating modifications or combat damage... and that's also the fun of modelism 😉

Z (31) T-90A (Russia)

For the background about the T-90A  I refer you to my publication Z(28) from last October.

This is the kit from ModelCollect and, although not as accurate and full of details as the Camel Model one, it leaves room for lots of improvement work an I really enjoyed it. I added a KMT-6 mine clearance system from the Revell T-55 A/AM kit, a "cope cage" from, like the few accessories, from Scale23, and a figurine from China found on Ebay. I must say that the result suits me perfectly.

Z (28) T-90A (Russia)

Developed to replace the ubiquitous T-72 tank in the then Soviet Army, the T-90 is still based on the same platform owing to its cost-effectiveness, simplicity and automotive qualities. As Russian tank production dwindled in the years before and after the breakup of the Soviet Union, the T-90 production was at first chaotic. With the resumption of slightly more substantial orders in the early 2000s, particularly for India, the modernised T-90A version was launched equipped with a new welded turret, a new engine, most recent Kontakt-5 reactive armor and more efficient sighting systems (a high performance thermal imaging was only installed from 2016).

The model is a fantastic 3D one produced by Camel Model from China available via Hobby Easy. The level and the fineness of the details are really spectacular. Their productions (to date T-72 A, T-72B1, T-72AV, T-90 and T-90A) are definitively not cheap but really impressive.
