Z (20) 9K35 Strela-10 (Russia)

The 9K35 Strela-10 ( NATO SA-13) is a Soviet mobile short range surface-to-air missile based on the ubiquitous MT-LB tracked vehicle. The 9K35 is a SAM system primarily intended to engage low-altitude threats. It is visually aimed with electro-optical guidance and has the capability to use radars for target acquisition and range. Introduced to the Soviet Army in 1976, the Strela-10 has since received several upgrades, particularly in terms of the quality of the detection means and the missiles used. Provision for amphibious capability is provided in the form of lateral amovible polyurethane-filled floats.

The model is a very fine 3D print from YK 3D Home modelling & visualization. The figures are converted Alex Miniature one and the accessories come from Scale23.

Z (19bis) 2S7 Pion/Malka diorama (Russia)

The splendid 2S7 kit produced by YK3D deserved a little diorama, especially since it comes with several shells and the loading trolley. The figurines are from Alex Miniature and the individual weapons from Scale23.

Z (19) 2S7 Pion/Malka (Russia)

The 2S7 Pion (or Malka for the modernisation in the late 2010s) is a Soviet self-propelled 203mm cannon. First seen in 1975, the 2S7 is based on a new-design chassis using a number of common automotive components with the T-72 and T-80 main battle tanks. The xternally mounted 203mm gun on the hull rear has a range of 37,500 metres that can be extended to 55,000 metres by using rocket assisted projectile. The 2S7 has a crew of 14, seven carried in the Pion and 7 in an auxiliary vehicle.
