The 9K317M Buk-M3 is the latest version of the Buk family of self-propelled medium range surface-to-air missile systems developed by the Soviet Union and then by the Russian Federation. It is designed to counter cruise missiles, smart bombs, fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles in the medium range between the long range S-300/400 systems and the point defense Tor and Pantsir. It has a 36 target channels for targets at maximum speed of 3,000 m/s, an altitude range of 0.015-35 km and a distance range of 2.5-70 km. The system is in service withe the Russian Federation since 2016.
