Z (57) Ural-4320 (Russia)

A general purpose off-road 6x6 truck, the Ural-4320 is the successor of the Ural-375 and is in service since 1976 in a lot of different versions first in the Soviet Army and now with the Russian Army. This vehicle is particularly appreciated for its durability, mechanical simplicity and its ability to carry heavy loads over difficult terrain.

The kit is a simple but good one from Zvezda. I decided to reinforce it with different protections more or less improvised in the field. I also sculpted an extensive camo netting with Green Stuff as usual.

Z (56) BTR-90 (Russia)

The BTR-90, developed in the early 90s, is an improved and larger version of the BTR-80 vehicle, fitted with a BMP-2 turret. It has a better armoured protection and the armement of the BMP-2 and, with its two water jet propellers, is fully amphibious. Only limited number of the vehicle have been produced, the Russian Army choosing in its place the BTR-82A, cheaper and easer to produce and more advanced still. Some of BTR-90 produced have been seen in the field in Ukraine.

The exquisite 3D printed model is from the excellent Turbo Studio. As the variant proposed was equipped with a BMP-2M turret, I made a BMP-2 turret with bits and parts from my spare box and some Green stuff, and also remade the engine cover to the more common version. The very nice figures are from White Stork Miniatures and I hope that they will make other modern vehicles crew in the future.
