The 2S9 Nona is a self-propelled, amphibious and air-droppable 120mm mortar which entered service with the Soviet Army in 1981. It is based on the aluminium hull of the BTR-D airborne multi-purpose tracked armoured personnel carrier. It is operated by a crew of four. The 2S9 utilises a 120mm mortar/howitzer hybrid, a rifled, breech-loaded weapon capable of firing HE, white phosphorus and smoke rounds as well as laser-guided munitions. It can engage in indirect and direct fire as well as targeting armoured vehicle with armour-piercing rounds.
The 3D printed model is from GE Models and is very nice, like their 1V119 Reostat (here) and, like it, is to be manipulated with delicacy, his rolling trains and tracks being particularly fragile. Following some photos, I added a complete cage like protection and some field modifications, a RP-377VM1 jammer, light battle damage and lot of dirt.
