Z (40) BMD-4M (Russia)

After a few false departures, with the successive failures of the BMD-3 et the initial BMD-4, it was not until 2015 that the BMD-4M, an Infantry Fighting Vehicle specifically intended for the airborne forces (VDV), officially entered service with the Russian army. Successors of the still in service BMD-2 of the 80s, the BMD-4M is a versatile light weight vehicle using aluminum alloy for its hull and capable of parachuting from aircraft with the entire crew and passengers inside it. The unification of 80% of its components withe BMP-3 family made it possible to drastically reduce the maintenance charge of the vehicle. Like the BMP-3, it is armed with a 100 mm gun coupled with a 30 mm autocannon and a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun. The BMD-4M feature and advanced computerized fire control system equipped with thermal imaging. It has a crew of three and can transport 5 passengers. It has seen extensive use with the VDV in the Russo-Ukranian War alongside the new APC BTR-MDM and the old BMD-2 vehicles family.

The 3D printed kit is from Turbo Studio from China and is a very nice one. The crew is from unknown Chinese origin.
