PT-76B (East Germany)

Introduced into service in the early 1950s, the amphibious light tank PT-76 soon became the standard reconnaissance tank of the Soviet Army and the other Warsaw Pact armed forces. Produced at more than 5000 exemplars and widely exported, the 76.2 mm rifled gun equipped PT-76 soldiered on, mainly as the slightly ameliorated PT-76B version, until replaced by the more modern BMP-1 vehicle in front line units. The East German NVA utilised 170 of them delivered between 1957 and 1959.

The kit is the very nice looking new Revell one (in fact the old Torso Model). It was a pleasure to build and paint this simple but effective kit (WIP here and here). (made 2021)
