BMP-2 (USSR)

A second-generation amphibious infantry fighting vehicle, the BMP-2 entered service with the Soviet Army in 1980. Broadly similar to his predecessor the BMP-1 from the 1960s, the BMP-2 introduced significant changes, the more important were an enlarged two-man turret for the commander and the gunner and a new armament composed of a 30mm autocannon and and external ATGM launcher capable of firing the AT-4 Spigot or the AT-5 Spandrel anti-tank missiles.

The kit is from ACE and, as always it need some work but came out as a nice model. Surprisingly, for such a frequent and iconic vehicle of Soviet productions, there is no other kit of the BMP-2 at 1:72 scale. I have long hoped to see S-Model release one, but ... (made 2013)
